Walk to School Day - October 7th

International Walk to School Month is the month of October.  To celebrate we will have our first Way to Go Deep Cove Walk to School Day on Friday, October 7th.
Meet us at at Denham Till Park at 8:15 am.  We will walk through the trails and up Clayton Rd. to the crosswalk in front of the Deep Cove School.  Children get credit for walking or biking to school, car pooling to school, or taking the bus to school.
If children are grade 3 or less we are asking that parents come prepared to walk or bike with their children to the school so we ensure SAFTEY of our children.  To keep things simple for this event we are going to have only one location to walk or bike from.
We will plan to arrive at the school at about 8:30 am.  The Way to Go Committee will be completing a survey of children who participate in the walking school bus and to those who ride the bus, carpool, and walk or cycle to school along their own route.  The class with the greatest participation will win the honor of hosting the Golden Shoe Award until our next Way to Go event.
To be counted in the walk to school program you must walk from home, Denham Till Park or at least as far as the Wain Road Fire Hall.  It will not count to walk from the Deep Cove Store.

Terry Fox Run

Come join the kids as they participate in the school's Terry Fox Run.  September 30th, at 9am.  The kids are collecting 'Toonies for Terry' starting September 26th.  

Smile Cards

Thrifty's has approved us for funding again this year.  Please start using your PAC cards, as 5% of the money loaded on the cards comes directly to our PAC.  Need a card??  Want an extra one?  email:  smilecards@deepcovepac.ca
